How does the Word Editor work?
On upload the full page structure — paragraphs, headings, tables and images — is extracted and shown on an editable sheet (contenteditable) with automatic direction per paragraph, so Arabic runs right-to-left and English left-to-right inside the same document.
On download the sheet is read back exactly as you see it: what you edited is what gets exported, not the original. A real DOCX package (Office Open XML) is built with right-to-left paragraphs, tables and images, or a text PDF is generated from the headings, paragraphs and tables.
All processing runs in browser memory and your file never leaves your device.
Edge cases this design handles
- Scanned document With no embedded text a message explains that nothing extractable was found — run the OCR tool first.
- Password-protected file A message points you to the Unlock PDF tool to remove the protection before editing.
- Empty sheet on download If you delete all the content, the download stops with a "document is empty" message instead of producing a blank file.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the Edit PDF tool?
Edit PDF changes the pages of the file in place and keeps their exact look. Word Editor turns the content into a flowing document you can rewrite freely — the right choice when you want a ready-to-edit Word file.
Will the document match the original PDF layout exactly?
No. The document is flowing, so paragraphs, tables and images are laid out as in Word; complex headers and multi-column layouts can differ from the original. To keep the original look use Edit PDF.
Can I open a scanned PDF?
Image-only scans have no embedded text, so run the OCR tool first to extract it, then edit it here.
What does the exported PDF contain?
The text, headings and tables of the document after your edits. Images are kept in the Word file but are not included in the PDF exported by this tool.
