A4 dimensions
A4 is the global standard (ISO 216): 210 × 297 mm (21 × 29.7 cm). At screen resolution (72dpi) that is 595 × 842 px; for print at 300dpi it is 2480 × 3508 px. Use it for résumés, contracts, invoices and official documents almost everywhere outside North America.
Legal & Letter dimensions
The US and Canada use Legal at 8.5 × 14 in (216 × 356 mm) — taller than A4, preferred for contracts because of the extra signature room — and Letter at 8.5 × 11 in (216 × 279 mm), the default US print size.
